Our square head lag screws provide a traditional vintage look for your project, featuring a fastener style sought out by blacksmiths, woodworkers, builders, and other makers who are looking to give their project an authentic finishing touch. The traditional black oxide finish contains a light oil coating to help prevent corrosion which will not scratch or peel off like painted finishes. Due to the amount of torque achieved with a square-head lag screw during installation, a pilot hole is required to prevent the screw from breaking during embedment.
